Greetings LUVJOY Family!
I'm so excited to be back in the social world after my long needed hiatus! I've seen so many beautiful people, outstanding accomplishments and life transformations on my news feed that have taken place over the past few months! Cheers to all of that! Cheers to 2019! Cheers to progress and elevation!
Seek
My need for the 6 month hiatus came from a place of overwhelm, ineffective priorities and a need to seek divine guidance.
The saying that the teacher comes when the student is ready is a true statement, at least for me it has been! I was overwhelmed by the rush of the rat race, in a tailspin from leaving my leadership career to become a fulltime stay at home mommy and just adulting, because I think most of us 80s and 90s babies are coming to the realization that adulting is no joke!
I was guided to find direction through seeking silence first. My meditation, prayer and journaling practice has been a saving grace and a true teacher. My takeaway in seeking is to seek silence daily, let my stillness be the guide for my movement, in that my thoughts, decisions and actions are inspired by a sacred space, place and power.
Shed
I cut it all off! Yes I did it, I know my early 20 something self would probably call me crazy, but I love it and I'm not sure when I'll start growing it back. So why the big change? Well I've had my hair all my life and after binge watching the Tidying Up with Marie Kondo show on Netflix, you need to watch it if you haven't lol and also watching the super inspirational "Nappily Ever After" starring Sanai Latham (another goodie girl flick) I affirmed it was shedding season. Letting go of excess in my house and on my head provided a metaphysical lightness to my entire life. I felt a pick me up in my self love, marriage and mommy life. My shedding taught me that each moment of everyday we make a decision, whether consciously or unconsciously to be a co-creator in our life. I had to take some time to reflect, ok Janeen, if you feel overwhelmed, unorganized and bewildered, what actions or lack thereof produce this in your current reality?
Then it was time to get to work...
Shine
Seek divine guidance, shed what holds you down and let your soul shine.
As spring approaches and I am less than 20 days away from my personal new year, my soul has begun to bloom and shine in a new way. I'm thrilled for the new adventures, living outside of my comfort zone and new lessons to learn. May your soul be set on fire by a love that emits a power so bright you have to smile.
So cheers to a new year, new city and new adventures. May you seek, shed and shine!
